Project Description:
The Utility Account Billing Agent will perform the activities related to the utility billing division, including root-cause analysis, transactional support, and providing technical and customer service support for daily operations, accurate billing and maintenance of utility billing records.
Responsibilities:
- Provide customer support for daily operations, including resolving customer billing inquiries and problems, calculating and preparing billing adjustments, and providing back-up support to utility billing staff
- Develop and manage customer service support needs including technology adjustments and/or customization
- Perform special analyses to identify billing exceptions and accounts aging reports
- Coordinate activities and operations with other utilities personnel and supervisors regarding issues affecting the services provided and billed to the customers
- Oversee and ensure the proper functioning of the utility billing system and contracted vendors who collect and process payments
- Develop short- and long-range plans for the client, including assisting with developing and implementing new or revised accounting systems, guidelines and procedures
Basic Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2 years of Utility Billing (electricity) experience, including solid customer service experience
- 1 year of Accounting experience
- 1 year of experience with SAP IS-U (ECC)
Bonus Points If You Have:
- Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel (e.g. VLOOKUP, pivot tables, macros, formulas, conditional formatting, etc)
- 1 year of Operational Exception Handling and/or Project Management experience
